FACTS

200M breathing tubes placed worldwide.

There are approximately 40 Million surgeries in the United States and about 230 million surgeries worldwide with up to 32% utilizing general anesthesia that require a breathing tube. Additionally, another 1,000,000 intubations are performed in US emergency rooms, and intensive care units.

PROBLEM

A standard stylet is used to shape the breathing tube before airway insertion. If the shape is unsuitable, the tube must be removed, reshaped, and reinserted, increasing intubation time, and injuries.

This delay is acceptable if the patient is stable, but if oxygen levels drop, it can be life-threatening.

3 To 6 minutes of oxygen deprivation can lead to cardiac arrest or brain death.

Even if the patient does not die in this situation and the breathing tube is eventually properly placed, the patient may still suffer.
The costs of this care are in the billions.

Failed attempts and delays in placement increase the risk of complications such as

Pulmonary Aspiration
Esophageal Intubation
Blood Pressure Instability
Low Blood Oxygen
Death

Cost to healthcare due to difficult intubations in United States is

$800 Million - $2.89 Billion

THE JOURNEY OF INNOVATION

Check out our three-year growth projection.

Our story begins with a vision for revolutionary medical devices that can save lives. With the necessary funding secured, we anticipate the development, prototyping, and FDA approval process to span approximately seven months.

1st Year: Laying the Foundation

Our story begins with a vision for revolutionary medical devices that can save lives. With the necessary funding secured, we anticipate the development, prototyping, and FDA approval process to span approximately seven months.

2nd Year: Expanding Our Reach

As we transition into our second year of full-scale sales and operations, our strategy will shift towards aggressive market penetration. By teaming up with strategic sales and distribution partners, we aim to significantly increase our footprint, targeting a 5% penetration of the US market.

3rd Year and Beyond: Going Global

With a solid foundation in the US, our third year marks the beginning of our international expansion. Starting with the UK and the EU, we will leverage our established partnerships and proven success to introduce our life-saving devices to new markets. Following this, we will broaden our reach into APAC countries, further extending our global impact.

This comprehensive international outreach will set the stage for sustained growth and innovation, allowing us to touch more lives worldwide.

SOLUTION

Helping People At Their Most Vulnerable

The fpaBio team - a medical engineer and an anesthesiologist -developed a novel stylet that allows real-time manipulation of the breathing tube tip and combines maneuverability of a malleable stylet with that of a bronchoscope thus outperforming them both.
